INFORMATION FOR OVERSEAS' COLLECTORS
The Creatures of the Night sessions have long remained surrounded by mystery but now, the veil is finally lifted with this exclusive and truly unique CD featuring unreleased studio material from the recording sessions of KISS’s explosive 1982 comeback album.
Part of this rare material was previously included in the Super Deluxe Creatures of the Night box set, a collector’s item that sadly remained far beyond the reach of many fans. Especially for them, and of course for the true collectors, we have carefully assembled this collection in chronological order, enhanced with additional recordings that, for reasons still difficult to understand, never made it onto the official box set including Eric Carr’s incredible version of “Killer.”
Experience this legendary album in a completely different way and let Gene, Paul, Eric, and Vinnie take you into another dimension with a treasure trove of unreleased material, including songs originally considered for the album.
Discover Paul Stanley’s fantastic “Betrayed”, completely different from the song of the same name that later appeared on Hot In The Shade in 1989 aswell as the hidden gem and KISS classic that never was: “It’s My Life.”
An essential journey into one of the most fascinating chapters in KISS history powerful, mysterious, and finally brought into the spotlight.
* Creatures of the Night
A raw, harder-edged alternate take and mix of the album’s opening track.
* Saint and Sinner (Take 1)
Raw early take featuring partially completed lyrics, including sections of scat-style vocal improvisation.
* Saint and Sinner (Take 2)
Alternate take featuring more developed lyrics.
* Rock and Roll Hell (Take 1)
Early stripped-down version with complete lyrics and a hard-cut ending.
* Rock and Roll Hell (Take 2)
An alternate take with noticeable differences from the first version.
* Rock and Roll Hell (Take 3)
Another alternate take and mix, closer to the final album version.
* I Love It Loud
A raw, heavier, and harder-edged full-length mix of the album’s lead single. The song was originally written in late 1980 or early 1981 under the title “I Wanna Be the President” and was intended for the album planned after Unmasked. However, the band changed direction and recorded Music from “The Elder” instead. About a year later, the song evolved into “I Love It Loud.”
* I Still Love You (Instrumental Take)
Early instrumental version of Paul’s emotional ballad.
* I Still Love You (Take 1)
A later take featuring lyrics. This heartbreaking ballad was written by Paul for his former girlfriend, Donna Dixon. Before the recording begins, Paul even mentions that the song is dedicated to her.
* Killer (Drum Session)
Drum session recordings by the beloved, late Eric Carr for the song “Killer.”
* War Machine (Full-Length Version)
A very different, longer, and rawer version of the song.
* Partners in Crime
Originally featured on the Killers album, this song was considered for Creatures of the Night, especially since Killers was not released in the United States. This is a different version to the Killers version.
* It’s My Life
Dropped from the album at the last minute, this outstanding outtake was later given to Wendy O’ Williams as the lead single for her WOW album.
* Legends Never Die
Another strong contender for the album, this fully completed track was ultimately left off the final tracklist. It resurfaced during both the Hot in the Shade and Psycho Circus sessions but was rejected again each time.
* Betrayed
A fully completed song written by Paul for the album, but rejected by producer Michael James Jackson, who felt the album was already strong enough without this powerful track.
* Not for the Innocent
One of the few collaborations between Paul and Gene, presented here in a different form from the version that eventually appeared a year later on Lick It Up.
* It’s Gonna Be Alright
The very first song Gene recorded during the Creatures of the Night sessions. Despite this, it never even made it onto a potential track listing.
