INFORMATION FOR OVERSEAS' COLLECTORS
From the same European Metallica collector who provided us with the Zwolle 1984 recording, recently released on Shades as Aardschok ’84, we have received a number of additional Dutch master tapes from Metallica shows from their early years.
Two of these recordings are absolutely outstanding. In terms of both sound quality and performance, they unquestionably rank among the very best recordings from the Kill ’Em All and early Ride the Lightning era. They are now finally seeing the light of day on the Zodiac label.
After the Aardschok Festival, Metallica travelled through Europe as the support act on Venom’s 7 Dates of Hell Tour. Afterwards, Twisted Sister took Metallica along with them for a European tour, including four shows in the Netherlands.
All of these concerts were recorded, and these tapes have now been brought back into the light. Why they remained hidden from collectors and fans for all these years is a mystery to us. Fortunately, we can now present them to you in the best possible quality.
You will be amazed by the level of detail in these recordings and by how clearly you can distinguish each instrument. Combined with the atmosphere inside the venues and the enthusiasm of the Dutch audiences, both shows give you the feeling that you are actually there.
You are, in a way, standing right in the middle of the venue. Close your eyes while listening, and you could swear that a time machine has taken you back to Europe in 1984.
Both shows feature an almost identical setlist, but, as was typical of early Metallica performances, the songs are arranged differently from one show to the other.
Enjoy these classic concerts, now preserved for eternity.
