Formed in the latter half of the 1960s, Chicago recorded numerous hits including
the number one in the United States from the 1970s to the 1980s, changed its m
usicality with the times, and continued its activities while repeating member chan
ges. Since its debut, it has been attracting attention as a representative of the bra
ss rock band that has a horn section, and as a cutting-edge rock band that is diff
erent from the later 80's AOR line, such as political message and advanced playi
ng ability of jazz and progressive development. It became popular in Japan, and i
n 1971, it made its first visit to Japan ahead of Led Zeppelin and Pink Floyd. Due
to its popularity and popularity, he returned to Japan in June 1972. The official al
bum "Live in Japan", which was released only in Japan at that time, was released
and the performance in Japan was recorded in 1972, but the live album was edit
ed for 3 days of the performance in Osaka. .. On the other hand, what was broad
cast on TV at that time was the Budokan concert on June 8th, which completely r
ecorded the Tokyo performance, which is different from the official Osaka perfor
mance. Many new songs from the new "Chicago V", which was not released at th
is time, including "Saturday in the Park" and "Dialog (Parts 1 & 2)", which later be
came the biggest hit singles at that time, were unveiled for the first time. The won
derfulness of the performance in Japan, which reached the peak of the band in th
e 70's, can be re-recognized by the sound and video of this performance in Toky
o, which is different from the performance in Osaka. The CD contains a sound bo
ard sound source that is different from the video source broadcast on TV, and so
me unrecorded songs are complemented with audience recording sound sources
to completely reproduce the concert of the day. Convert the monaural sound sour
ce at that time to a 4-track stereo master by the latest sound source analysis. Not
only the sound board but also the audience recording part has become clearer a
nd the instruments have been separated, so the performance has been reborn as
the latest stereo remastered sound source that can be heard more realistically. A
nd on the DVD, a 90-minute pro-shot video of the Budokan performance that was
broadcast on TV at that time and a 24-minute archive film video edited completel
y separately are recorded. Although not all the songs in the concert, it is a valuab
le documentary of the Budokan performance that revives the excitement and exci
tement of the time. The 90-minute version of the TV broadcast has undergone im
age restoration such as color tone correction as a video remaster, and audio is al
so recorded with three types of audio options. In addition to the latest 4-track ster
eo master similar to a CD, a video sound source that was a pseudo-stereo and a
TV broadcast original mono sound source at that time can be listened to and com
pared by select playback. The archive film video is an excavated video that was
once broadcast on a local station and was stored in the store. Not only does the
90-minute TV broadcast version include songs that were not recorded, but the vi
deo itself is not degraded and duplicated. All the songs I play are must-see altern
ate versions with different angles and edits. In addition to the latest 4-track stereo
master, this sound also includes an original mono sound source that is faithful to
the master, although it is difficult to hear in terms of sound quality. Both are DVD
collections of old fans' tears that have been restored with the latest remastering o
f existing images. Chicago 1972 Japan Tour, one of the rock legends of the 70's!
