Aerosmith's farewell tour, "Peace Out", was originally scheduled to start in September 2023. However, after the third performance on September 9, it was postponed due to vocal cord damage to vocalist Steven Tyler. The tour was then rescheduled to start in October 2024, but on August 2 local time, the band announced that the tour would be canceled due to Steven's vocal cords not recovering. The third performance was this Elmont performance, which turned out to be their last live show.

On their official website, they looked back on the days of Aerosmith, which was founded in 1970, and expressed their strong and great gratitude and love to their fans, saying, "That flame has been burning with you all for over 50 years," and "In live houses, on huge tours, and in your private lives, you have allowed us to be a part of the soundtrack of your lives."
And about the condition of vocalist Steven Tyler, they said, "He has been working heart and soul for many months to regain the voice he had before his injury," and "Despite having the best medical team with him, Steven continued to struggle," and "Sadly, it has become clear that his voice will never be fully recovered."

Finally, they expressed their endless feelings by saying, "Please continue to listen to our music at full volume, now and in the future. Please keep dreaming. Thanks to you all, our dreams have come true."
